Steve RomeynBecause of his experience in the active adult home building industry, Steve Romeyn was invited to speak at the 68th annual NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla. As a managing partner of Windsong Properties, Steve has helped the company win numerous OBIEs from the Sales and Marketing Council, earn the Active Living Award from the AARP and be named the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Associations 50+ Community of the Year for Somerset. During the panel, held earlier this month, Steve shared tips in marketing, finance, design, quality construction and customer service.

The  audience loved learning from one of the surviving and thriving builders. Romeyn explained that the continued success of Windsong Properties is due to its owners and managers having direct contact with customers at all points of the building process. Additionally, his staff members have a passion for serving in the active adult market. “Through the cultivation of relationships with our buyers, we have established a family atmosphere that makes us unique,” stated Romeyn.

The session also explored the improvement in the active adult market. Even before the International Builders’ Show, Romeyn was seeing increased visitors to Windsong communities. “Windsong Properties’ traffic and sales over the past couple of months are a leading indicator of the improvement in the market,” stated Romeyn.

Windsong Properties has even started construction on two new communities. One of these communities, Garden Street in Woodstock, should open next month.

Offering Windsong’s award-wining active adult homes, these homes will offer low maintenance living, single-level floor plans and private courtyards. Each home will have wide, no-step doorways, lever handles and ability for personalization.
