The marketing team at Soleil Laurel Canyon, a 330 acre, resort-inspired active adult community in Canton, Ga. captured a Silver Award from the National Mature Media for its marketing and advertising campaign. The competition is the nation’s largest awards program established to recognize excellence in magazines geared to people aged 50 and older, North America’s most rapidly growing and wealthy demographic.
The awards, organized by the National Mature Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for the older adult market, recognized Soleil and Evolv, the community’s marketing/advertising arm for its outstanding campaign that re-branded the community from its former name Seasons and depicted Soleil Laurel Canyon as one of the most vibrant active adult communities in the United States.
Visuals and phrases that were used during this campaign included: “Your Parents Always Told You Act You’re Age, Don’t Follow the Crowd and It’s not Polite to Stare.” The headlines paid off with fun visuals of older adults having fun and enjoying life. The campaign was activated and carried through on billboards, television, radio, print and event marketing materials.
Entries were judged by specific divisions and categories by mature market experts using a one to 100 rating scale. Based on format, content, creativity, relevance and overall quality, scores were totaled and averaged. All winners received national recognition and an award certificate.
Restricted to those 55+ in age, residents enjoy a wide range of amenities including a 28,000 square foot clubhouse with heated indoor saline pool, billiards parlor, gourmet teaching kitchen, fitness center and aerobics studio, library, two card rooms and an arts and crafts studio.
