Brookhaven of East Cobb in Kennesaw GADid you know that the fastest growing population of the 21st century is the active adult? It’s no wonder that active adult homes in the Atlanta area are becoming more and more popular! Representing the builders that serve the needs of this market is the Atlanta 50+ Housing Council, led by Kelly Dempsey.

Kelly is the vice president of sales and marketing for Jim Chapman Communities, which builds active adult homes in Duluth, Kennesaw and Cumming.

As one of the nation’s largest 50+ councils, Dempsey’s role includes advising its board members and committees on membership, programs, advocacy, education and charity.

The last event of 2013 was held on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Cobb Galleria. Members enjoyed networking and lunch followed by a presentation by Manny Gonzalez, principal with KTGY Group, Inc., Architecture + Planning.
Gonzalez discussed universal design and how today’s active adults want to live at communities that provide amenities and convenient locations.

Dempsey and his team work hard to provide all that and more at Brookhaven at Sugarloaf, Brookhaven of East Cobb and Brookhaven at Lanier Ridge. All boast brick and stone construction, inviting front porches and livable floor plans with two to three bedrooms and easy living features such as wider doorways, ample maneuvering space and zero-step entries.

Amenities include maintenance free lawns, community pools, outdoor fireplaces and clubhouses with exercise rooms and kitchens.

In addition to gorgeous homes and award-winning amenities, each community has easy access to shopping, dining, recreation and hospitals.
