North Georgia Apple Festival
Back for its 53rd year, the annual Georgia Apple Festival invites you to celebrate the season with serene mountain views and fall fun. The festival grows yearly but strives to maintain its small-town feel with fair food, on-site demonstrations by local businesses, shopping and more. Open two weekends this year, Oct. 12 to 13 and Oct. 19 to 20, you do not want to miss Ellijay’s authentic fall celebration. Admission is $10 per person and children under 12 get in for FREE.
Apple Festival 5K
Runner enthusiasts should check out the Apple Festival 5K, one of the longest-running 5Ks in Georgia and the official kickoff of the North Georgia Apple Festival. The race begins at 8 a.m. and ends at Ellijay Elementary School. A 1-mile fun run starts at 8:45 a.m. At the race’s end, awards will be given to 14 age groups, from 10 and under through 70 and older.
Apple Arts on the Square
Stroll through downtown Ellijay and explore 50+ vendors featuring local food, arts and crafts and lots of apples, of course! Add Apple Arts on the Square to your list for the second and third weekends of October – Oct. 12 to 13 and Oct. 19 to 20 – and bring home a piece of North Georgia this fall.
Apple Classic Auto Show
During your visit to the Apple Festival, check out a sleek lineup of classic cars at the Apple Classic Car Show. Happening October 14 at the Victory Christian Center in Ellijay, the show features 300 show spots, 100 awards and tons of door prizes and raffle items. All proceeds from the show directly benefit Ellijay’s community through scholarships, food pantries and children’s activities.
