Soleil Laurel Canyon was just designated one of the 50 best master-planned communities in the U.S. in “Where to Retire” magazine! The issue featuring the active adult community will hit newsstands on June 21.
Over the course of about a year, editors at “Where to Retire” started combed through more than 150 communities across the United States. They pared down the neighborhoods and zeroed in on active adult communities that go above and beyond and offer residents that special extra something.
Soleil was selected for its amenity-rich property with clubhouses, recreation and activities to help residents stay fully engaged in their surroundings and friendly neighbors.
“Clubhouses, fitness centers, social clubs and education classes mean residents get much more than a house at a planned community,” said Karen Northridge, publisher of “Where to Retire.”
“Residents love their homes in Soleil, but they really enjoy the lifestyle,” says Evan Cramer, development manager for Active Lifestyle Communities. “The community offers so many amenities, activities and clubs. From golf, to gardening to model trains, there is something here that each person can connect with.”
Residents in this an active adult community, restricted to those 55 and older, live independently in homes that range from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet and are priced between the $200s and the high $400s. This environment, which also includes a clubhouse, heated indoor saline pool, billiards parlor, teaching kitchen, fitness center, aerobics studio, library, two card rooms and an art studio, is why Cramer calls Soleil one of the nation’s best retirement communities. A performing arts center, outdoor amphitheatre, outdoor lagoon-style pool, six clay tennis courts, full-time tennis pro, walking trails, a greenhouse and neighboring golf course round out the long list of amenities.
