One thing is for certain: the residents at Soleil Laurel Canyon have big hearts and want to give to the community.
One of the most recent projects was undertaken by the Lady Bug Quilters group at the Canton active adult community. After two members picked up brochures for the ConKerr Cancer Project at separate quilting shops, the group new it was the perfect project. ConKerr Cancer Project aims to brighten the lives of sick children staying in hospitals by providing brightly colored pillow cases.
The group initially set out to make 25-30 pillowcases, but brought the total up to 209 before they were donated recently. Aside from working on the ConKerr project, the Lady Bug Quilters have also made numerous charity quilts, including nine for the nearby Canton Nursing Center.
Other groups at Soleil have been in the charitable spirit recently. In early June, the community’s Optimist Club raised more than $6,000 for several local charities with a wine and cheese event. The Soleil Veterans Club also recently raised more than $2,200 for active military and veterans in the community at a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser held in May.
Soleil Laurel Canyon is a 330 acre resort-inspired active adult community. The community features beautiful floorplans, numerous social clubs and an unbelievable 28,000 square foot clubhouse. For more information on Soleil Laurel Canyon, visit the website.
