Kay Green Design, an international award-winning, full-service interior design firm, is ready to take the 50+ consumer market by storm. Kay Green, president and founder, believes that she and her firm can add the special touches to interior design that will resonate with the boomer generation.
During the 2011 International Builders’ Show, Green will present a special session titled, “50+ Fantastic Merchandising Techniques to Captivate 50+ Consumers“. The session will be held on Jan. 13 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in 50+ Lifestyle Central, located in West 314A in the Orange County Convention Center. Attendees will learn about the hottest trends in model merchandising and sales center and clubhouse design for the 50+ demographic. This intimate educational session offers insight into understanding the 50+ lifestyle and how to captivate buyers.
One such technique involves the marketing of eco-friendly options. While younger buyers are swayed by the prospect of preserving the environment and conserving resources, 50+ buyers are more interested in saving money. For them, the higher up-front costs involved in many “green” purchases is offset by the long-term savings from lower utility bills.
In addition to her presentation, Green and her team have redesigned the 50+ Lifestyle Center in which the event takes place, allowing attendees to get real-world examples of new merchandising. The 50+ Lifestyle Central will have the appearance and feel of an active adult clunhouse. With upholstered chairs, lamps, accessories and Mohawk rugs for each space, the 50+ Lifestyle Central will be the perfect place for show attendees to escape the hustle and bustle of the IBS.
