Last week, Jane O’Connor, president of 55 Plus Marketing in Charlemont, Mass., was named the Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing (CAASH) designee of the year at a gala reception during the 2011 NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando.
O’Connor has served as Chair of the CAASH Board of Governors and helped develop certification guidelines for the program. One of the first people to receive the CAASH professional designation, she has been working tirelessly to prepare course work in sales education and to teach other industry professionals.
“Jane has donated countless hours to writing and teaching courses and promoting continuing education for the 50+ industry participant,” said Leslie Marks, a member of the CAASH Board of Governors. “This award recognizes her work in establishing a high standard of professionalism for those in the 50+ housing sector.”
O’Connor is a frequent speaker at industry events like the International Builders’ Show and is even the author of NAHB’s course, “Selling to the Active Adult.” She is also a Trustee for NAHB’s 50+ Housing Council and a NAHB National Director for the Builders Association of Greater Boston.
