Looking for a great way to spend your fall, but not sure where? You need to visit the Alabama and Georgia state line, to visit the newest hunting preserve in the Southeast, Twisted Pine Hunting Preserve. The preserve just opened near Lanett Alabama new homes community Quail Run, built by Greater Valley Group in Lanett, Ala., and has over 2,100 acres of prime hunting land.

Twisted Pine also features excellent areas for deer and turkey hunts, with over 1,700 acres in Chambers County, Ala., and 400 acres in Harris County, Ga. There are currently several trip packages available, with two, three and four day deals, and the fee includes accommodations adjacent to the Chattahoochee River in the Georgia portion of the preserve.

If you enjoy fishing, cabins at Twisted Pine are just a few feet from a 10-acre lake. Each cabin has two bedrooms, with two twin beds and one full bed in each room, holding up to six hunters. Satellite TV, towels and linens are provided, in addition to a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill. However, you aren’t required to rent a cabin to enjoy the thrill of deer or turkey hunting at the preserve, you can make just a day trip as well.

Deer hunting season began for archery in Georgia on Sept. 11, rifle season is set to begin Oct. 16, and both end Jan. 1. Alabama’s deer hunting season starts Oct. 15 for archery and Nov. 20 for rifles, and both of these end Jan. 31, so get to Twisted Pine Hunting Preserve, the season won’t last long!
