Twice a year residents of the Atlanta lake community, Heron Bay Golf and Country Club gather together and clean our their closets, attics, basements and garages for the community-wide garage sale. Over 50 homes participated in the April event, each helping to make it the rousing success that it was.
After the sale was over, all unsold items were donated to All About Developmental Disabilities. The AADD has been helping individuals and families with development disabilities with obtaining training for jobs, receiving education and medical care and finding places to live since 1956. All Heron Bay residents who did not participate in the garage sale were encouraged to donate to AADD.
The community wide garage sale is just one of the many ways that Heron Bay residents are able to gather together. Other community activities include an Earth Day Celebration, Annual Pool Party at the Aquatic Center and the August Dive-In Movie.
In addition, the community also has amazing amenities, perfect the active adult interested in staying healthy and fit without ever leaving the master-planned community. The Canongage golf course, lakefront park, tennis courts, miles of walking trails and three pool aquatic center all offer plenty of ways to remain trim this summer.
