Greater Valley Group, brought on board two award winning architects in classic southern homes, to design its new community Quail Run in Chambers County, Ala. The architects, James L. Strickland and L. Mitchell Ginn, have an excess of 50 years experience combined, in historic and traditional southern architecture, and are known for exquisite designs.

Strickland is the founder and president of Historical Concepts architectural firm in Atlanta, Georgia, and has been nationally recognized for designing southern historic homes. He has worked on a variety of homes across the Southeast, and recently partnered in designing the 2010 Southern Living Idea Home in Senoia, Georgia. Architect L. Mitchell Ginn, the founder of L. Mitchell Ginn and Associates, Inc. based in Newnan, Georgia, is known for his work including the 2006 Southern Living Idea House on Daniel Island in South Carolina. He has designed the Kendall, Ashley, Rutledge and Miss Maggie model homes for Quail Run, and also assisted with existing plans in this community.

Together Strickland and Ginn were chosen by Tim Randolph, chief operating officer for Southern Place Homes building Quail Run. “Bringing in Mr. Strickland and Mr. Ginn allowed us to utilize their architectural expertise,” said Randolph. “I think once you visit Quail Run, you will understand the benefits of us working with two of the Southeast’s most respected architects.”

This new community of homes has great plans appealing to retirees looking to pay lower property taxes (just $960 per year on a $250,000 home), and is just minutes from downtown West Point and Interstate 85. Models in Quail Run offer a variety of styles for homeowners to choose from, such as ranch, two-story, and traditional floorplans as well.
