At 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, walkers began an almost four-mile journey from the Soleil Laurel Canyon clubhouse down Laurel Canyon Parkway and back, to honor the memory of Soleil residents who have passed while raising money for the Angel House of North Georgia.
The Angel Walk was started by Soleil residents in order to remember members of the community who have passed away since the community was founded almost five years ago.
The walk was also designed to help raise money and awareness for the Angel House of North Georgia, an organization that provides housing and counseling for teenage girls. Last year, the walk raised $7,100 to help the Angel House purchase a small fuel-efficient vehicle for transportation.
After the walk, Soleil Laurel Canyon invited non-residents to tour the community with one of its new home sales agents. Homeowners at Soleil Laurel Canyon enjoy a wide range of amenities including a 28,000 square foot clubhouse with heated indoor saline pool, billiards parlor, gourmet teaching kitchen, fitness center and aerobics studio, library, two card rooms and an arts and crafts studio. A performing arts center, outdoor amphitheatre, outdoor lagoon-style pool, six clay tennis courts, full-time tennis pro, walking trails and greenhouse round out the long list of amenities.
Those interested in learning more about Soleil can utilize the community’s Sneak-a-Peek Home Program that allows potential homeowners the chance to experience the Soleil lifestyle with a three day, two night stay in one of the fully furnished guest homes in the community.
